Dental veneers are custom-fitted and color-tinted porcelain shells used to cover a range of flaws, including broken, misaligned, or discolored teeth. Dr. Kamanin tints the veneer to match the color of your natural teeth then bonds it to the surface. Modern veneers look so natural they are virtually impossible to detect.
Veneers are a long-lasting solution to correct gaps in your smile caused by misaligned teeth. Veneers are an excellent treatment option because they’re less invasive, less expensive and often a quicker fix than other options.
The procedure requires several appointments with Dr. Kamanin. During the first appointment, he’ll assess whether veneers are a good option for you based on your health and needs. He may take X-rays and impressions of your teeth during this consultation.
After the veneers are made, Dr. Kamanin fits, shapes, and bonds them to your teeth. To bond the veneers, he remove 0.5 millimeter of enamel from your tooth’s surface; the veneers then fill in the removed enamel. Dr. Kamanin may need to clean, polish, or trim the veneers to assure that they are aligned perfectly with your natural teeth.
Typically, veneers last between 10-15 years, depending on your oral health and how well you take care of the veneers. Veneers may break, chip, or wear down, but Dr. Kamanin can replace them easily.
No. You should treat veneers as if they’re part of your natural teeth. Brush them twice a day and floss at least once daily. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Kamanin every six months for teeth cleaning. Grinding your teeth may cause veneers to chip or break. If you grind your teeth, Dr. Kamanin can provide a custom mouth guard to protect your veneers, as well as, your natural teeth.
